Sociology is a martial art

Sociology is a martial art

Here we go.

Bourdieu (pictured above) starts this blog off with a bang; Modern Life Is War add to it with a classic: “I drag my chains, they don’t drag me – I walk right through”. These are the underlying principles of what I want to do with this: to show how I learn to use the social sciences as a way of becoming a more informed agent in the world, in order to create social change.

I aim to show my working process over the next few years of my PhD, as well as any topics my short attention span draws me to, so that you can read this, understand how I use the sociological imagination to make sense of the complex fabric of modern life, and collaborate in order to create a bunch of new ideas in a creative space.

Listen to good music / drink more coffee / read more.
